This creamy savory incredibly flavorful dip is absolutely delicious. Our roasted garlic bacon dip is one of our favorite recipes, and I assure you that it will quickly become one of yours as well.
Roasted Garlic? Check. Bacon? Check. It’s a Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip to die for!
I’m a little bit of a garlic addict. Probably obvious when you check out our garlic overload burger. Roasted garlic is the best. And if you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you already totally know I’m a bacon addict.
When you combine the two together, you get this amazing roasted garlic bacon dip that goes so beautifully with chunks of bread, fresh veggies, pretzels and crackers.
We also make homemade tortilla chips to enjoy with the dip.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- A very easy recipe to make!
- Goes well with crackers, chips, breads, vegetables, meats and more!
- If you love garlic, this dip is totally up your ally!
- Bacon… because… bacon!
What Can I Serve with Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip?
It doesn’t really matter what you serve with Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip, because this dip is just gooood.
I mean, knock your socks off, eat it all at one time and look around to see if anyone has anything else to dip in it because you ran out of stuff so you just start using your finger to get it all out of the bowl, good.
- Dip sliced bread chunks into it or spread onto bread rounds to make a delicious appetizer.
- Spread on deli meat and rolled up to create an appetizer roll up.
- To serve as a dip with fresh vegetables, potato chips, pretzels or crackers.
- Makes a great thing to spread on grilled chicken breasts or anything coming off the grill.
- Delicious with pita bread or in pita sandwiches.
- A great sandwich spread!
It has an extremely strong roasted garlic flavor, paired beautifully with the savory bacon flavor.
Add in some green onions and you’ve got a great flavor combination that just intermingles together on your tongue and leaves you begging for more.
You know the potato chips you can’t eat just one of? Yeah… you won’t be dipping just one of anything in there. I promise.
See all that bread in the photo? Two minutes. Gone.
Ingredients and Substitutions for Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip
fresh garlic heads – you cannot really use minced garlic for this recipe, because you need to roast the garlic heads
olive oil – this is for roasting the garlic
bacon – self explanatory – choose your favorite brand
sour cream – it is okay to use light sour cream or even plain Greek yogurt if desired
mayonnaise – Do not use miracle whip (which is not mayonnaise anyway) for this recipe
finely chopped green onions – this adds to the texture and flavor, but chives could be substituted if desired
Worcestershire Sauce – Any brand will do but this does add to the flavor, so shouldn’t be skipped
salt & pepper – this can be adjusted to taste, so be sure and sample along the way so you don’t add too much
Substitutions: I mentioned above where substitutions could be made. You can try other substitutions but I strongly advise trying to stick to the recipe when possible, to get the same texture and flavor.
It’s amazing. All that roasted garlic flavor and everything is better with bacon. ha!
It’s just good. You need to make it. Soon.
This is literally our favorite dip recipe. It’s simple, extremely flavorful and one we reach for at any occasion!
How to Properly Store Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip
Don’t you agree that roasted garlic really does add something to dips, spreads, etc. Oh and what we had leftover? Which wasn’t a lot I might add. We smothered all over a sub sandwich the next day. I do this with almost every dip.
For best results, store your Roasted Garlic Bacon Dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to about 5-7 days.
It can be made ahead of time, and actually is best that way. It allows the dip to marry all its flavors together and you can a smoother more deep flavor profile.
If you don’t have time to make it up ahead of time, try to let it rest about an hour or two before serving. If you absolutely cannot wait, then it’s fine to serve it as soon as it’s ready, it just won’t be as flavorful as it could be.
This is one of those recipes that simply gets better as time goes by.
If a recipe we make can pass the “I’ll eat it all in one sitting test” but then I have enough to spread on a sandwich and it tastes good, I know it’s a keeper and will be made again and again.
I am not a big football fan. I’m not really into sports…
But, I do enjoy going to the tailgating parties… why? The food!
It’s the best! (Super Bowl Parties rock too!)

Perfect. No doubt. Thanks Veronica!
Oh yum Nicole. I am so making this for the Auburn/Alabama game in November. Bacon and roasted garlic are awesome.
Totally amazing. You’ll love it and it’s great for a game or for any other occasion (and sometimes just because… because its so good.. yeah that’s why!)
Wow, that looks so amazingly good. And I like the idea of serving it with bread instead of chips. Yum.
The flavor was much more distinct with the bread rather than veggies or chips. It was SO good!
OMG! Roasted garlic AND bacon together? SWOON!
Believe you me, when I felt like I wanted to actually lick the bowl at the end, I was swooning too… amazing combo.
I have never roasted a garlic before but this recipe makes me want to, yum!
Roasted garlic is amazing. You totally need to hon!
Simple easy & love the roasted garlic !! Will def be making this !
Sue it was amazing! Thanks!
Roasted garlic and bacon – what else is there? Can’t wait to give this a try!
I love bacon and garlic too. When a recipe calls for 1 or 2 cloves of garlic I disregard the recipe and just put as much as I want which usally half a head of garlic. This dip looks amazing!
Garlic and Bacon did you say??I’m totally in!I’m also a garlic addict and can see myself emptying that whole bowl in a matter of seconds 🙂
I can imagine that! Garlic and bacon, yes, that sounds totally luvly and … addicting.
Chris, it so is! 🙂 I blame the source of my eating so much to it’s compelling addicting properties. Yeah, that’s it. 😉
Oh wow this sounds great! I’m pinning it for later.
That dip deserves a nice, stout beer bread! I love garlic and all of it’s health benefits. We’ll ignore the mayo. LOL
Jamie @ http://www.mamamommymom.com
You can’t even taste the mayo… in fact, I’m not sure it’s even necessary to make this dip taste as good as it does. That roasted garlic and bacon flavor FAR outweighs it. Love!
I kept seeing the title to your post popping up everywhere. Roasted garlic AND bacon?! Those are my two favorite things ever 😀
Garlic and Bacon? Wow! sounds amazing!
This was delish…I made it a day ahead and the favor’s really popped.
This was delish…I made it a day ahead and the favor’s really popped. Just might want to read your recipe instructions. You cooked the garlic but never actually added them to the blender or bowl. Reading the recipe there is no garlic in it. Line 3 is one too many “and’s”. Line 4 Should read “the salt and pepper.” Not the salt and the pepper. But, tasty recipe thanks. 1st time cooks might be confused about not adding the garlic.
