I’m always looking for an excuse to throw a party. I mean who doesn’t? Not that I need an excuse, because don’t worry, I’ll celebrate something. I’m not the biggest sports nut, but my family is and no matter what sport it is, we can always find a reason to invite over friends and have some fun together watching the game. It might be about the game for everyone else, but for me it’s ALL about the food.
We made these delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Parfafts for the big basketball event and had so much fun incorporating Reese’s into our theme! They were incredibly delicious and were a huge hit. Next time I will be making twice the number of them.

There are so many reasons why Reese’s is the perfect choice for your big gameday event.
First, these Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Parfaits. Second, the orange and black color, well don’t they just scream basketball? ha!
But more importantly, they are convenient, everyone loves Reese’s and they require no preparation because they taste great all by themselves. Plus, chocolate and Peanut Butter. Enough said.

We had so much fun incorporating Reese’s into our theme, but we had some fun with traditional decorations.

After a quick trip to Walmart, where we headed down the candy aisle to pick up a little of everything from Reese’s, we also stopped back in the sporting goods section and grabbed a few basket balls and nets. Because why not decorate with some real items? Loved how festive it looked all set up.

This was our eventual brain child. We took these fun sheets of background, which happened to be different styles of bricks, and secured the background to cardboard. We then secured the net to the whole thing and gently placed the basketball in. These sat on our tables as a “backdrop” of sorts. We then let the kids take them home at the end of the night. They were a big hit!
Then we set to work getting some desserts whipped up among all the veggie platters and sandwich trays.

I was determined to find a fun way to use the Reese’s in an easy dessert. Well these Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Parfaits were the perfect answer.
The chocolate layer is a delicious chocolate pudding that has chunks of Reese’s peanut butter cup mixed in. Then a center layer of whipped cream. Then the last layer of a very easy three ingredient Creamy Peanut Butter Pudding. We topped each parfait with a few Reese’s mini’s and called it a day.
Actually we wound up making 24 of them in a variety of different sizes and glasses and there wasn’t a single one left at the end. I really should have made more.
Are you ready to whip up a batch of Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Parfaits?

As you can see we incorporated a lot of orange and black into our party theme. Reese’s lends itself perfectly to being part of the decorations!

As a fun treat for the youngest kids, we got some Reese’s Big Cup Peanut Butter cups and they decorated them with like basketballs. A little orange icing and black piping icing and they enjoyed an edible craft while the grown ups enjoyed the game. We also had mini games of basketball going out on the driveway. So much fun!
