How to Store Leftover BBQ Chicken Sliders
- Refrigerate: Leftovers from this recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- Storage: Make sure to put them in a container with a lid or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap to keep them fresh.
Can You Freeze Crockpot BBQ Chicken?
Yes. The shredded BBQ chicken freezes surprisingly well.
Let the chicken cool completely, then store it in freezer-safe containers or freezer bags for up to 3 months.
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
What Makes These BBQ Sliders So Good?
The combination of tender shredded chicken, smoky BBQ sauce, and soft slider buns makes these incredibly comforting and easy to eat. They are simple, filling, and family-friendly without requiring a lot of prep work or ingredients.
Adding cheese, coleslaw, pickles, or crispy onions gives the sliders even more texture and flavor while still keeping the recipe easy enough for busy nights.
Can I Use Rotisserie Chicken Instead?
Yes! Rotisserie chicken works great if you need dinner even faster.
Simply shred the chicken, mix it with your favorite BBQ sauce, and warm it in the crockpot or on the stovetop until heated through. This shortcut is especially helpful on extra busy weeknights.
How Do You Keep BBQ Chicken Moist in the Crockpot?
The key is using enough sauce and avoiding overcooking.
Chicken breasts can dry out if cooked too long, so once the chicken shreds easily, it is ready. Stirring the shredded chicken back into the sauce also helps keep every bite tender and flavorful.
What Are the Best Buns for BBQ Sliders?
Soft slider buns or Hawaiian rolls work especially well because they hold the shredded chicken without falling apart.
Toasting the buns lightly with butter adds even more flavor and helps keep them from getting soggy.
