A wonderfully tropical blend of mango and banana in an ice cold Mango Banana Smoothie.
Mango Banana Smoothie
This month’s theme was Fruit Smoothies, so I went with this awesome tropical Mango Banana Smoothie. I am in love with smoothies and could eat sip them daily, though I refrain from that much fruit consumption.
I really bounced around looking for some really special smoothie but each time I did that, I always came back to flavors I already love together. Flavors that were screaming out to me.
I chose this recipe from Katie at This Chick Cooks. It was one of those recipes where it sounded heavenly right about then and I love that she uses mason jars like we do to serve our smoothies. My kids love eating and drinking out of the cute jars so I was immediately hooked with her photo.
I really didn’t change much except my daughter’s kept wondering where the syrup was (agave nectar) and so I added a tiny tsp. and I added it for the whole recipe, not per glass. It’s really not needed but it was good either way. I also added a cup of ice at the end to make it more like a frozen smoothie. I have horrible luck with frozen bananas, so I put mine in unfrozen and just added some ice. By the time I changed up the recipe though, I had made it serve more people, which is good because there were 4 kids waiting in line for a delicious little glass of this yummy Mango Banana Smoothie.
They are wonderfully refreshing on a hot day!
Mango and Banana Smoothie
Mango Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 mango cut up
- 2 bananas sliced
- ¾ cups milk
- 1 teaspoons honey or agave nectar – that’s what we use
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Throw everything into a blender and mix until smooth. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. Delicious!
- Note: You can substitute yogurt for milk and I would imagine the results would be similar.
I am fan of mango so this is a winning smoothie, for me.
