I love it because not only does it go great with tortilla chips, but spread on burritos, fajitas, tacos…. even served with a steak or chicken.
I cannot even tell you how delicious this is.
The best part is, it comes together in just a few minutes and uses basic ingredients that if you don’t already have on hand are easy to get and inexpensive.
This is the kind of dip I almost always keep avocados on hand for.
When I feel like a heartier dip, I add fresh tomatoes, more onion, jalapenos, a squeeze of lime and more.
I think that’s what makes this recipe so incredible. It’s almost like a jumping off point.
You add what you like.
Did I happen to mention how easy it is? Literally just mix everything together until you have a consistency you’re happy with.
Feel free to taste along the way too.
For instance, I went easy on the garlic flavor for this post, but I will tell you we add a lot more onion and garlic than this.
I have to remember not all my friends are as into garlic as I am.
But if you love it as much as I do, don’t be afraid to add a little more a 1/4 teaspoon at a time, blending in between and then tasting.
I have been known to roast a garlic clove and spread it on a slice of bread to eat. haha
So I’m not afraid of a little garlic. Or a lot.
But you have to do you and your family and/or friends tastes are important too.
Figure out what works and go with it.
This dip is creamy and mild, but packs some flavor and is great on anything.
I even made avocado toast with it, because well – I had a ton leftover and wanted something different.
Again, that’s why I love this Easy Creamy Avocado Dip.
It seriously goes great on anything and adds nice flavor and color.
A tiny bit different version of this Easy Creamy Avocado Dip is what a friends mom gave us when we were kids as a snack.
She actually served it with crackers and I remember how delicious it was.
I fancied it up a bit just because I like a little more flavor now than I did back then.
I found a similar version in one of those old classic spiral bound church cookbooks that the congregations used to put together.
I feel like so many old recipes came from these books or swapped around.
Does this make it a vintage recipe? ha! I’m kidding of course, but then again – maybe.
I love turning to old classic church cookbooks to find recipes that I can make and adapt and modernize.
Easy Creamy Avocado Dip is basically that.
With a few additions.

I was having a hankering for my Mom’s creamy avocado dip and found your recipe. I realized it was close to what she made with a few tweaks. Our family loves garlic, etc. so I tasted it as written, then doubled the garlic powder, lemon juice, s&p, and added a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Perfect! I think she would be very proud! Thank you for getting me on the road to recreating those childhood memories!
