Use ripe avocados for the smoothest texture and best flavor. Ripe avocados should feel slightly soft when gently pressed.
Cream Cheese
Cream cheese makes this avocado dip extra creamy and rich. Let it soften before mixing so the dip blends smoothly.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice adds bright fresh flavor and also helps slow avocado browning.
Garlic Powder and Onion
These simple seasonings give the dip savory flavor without overpowering the avocado.
Milk
Milk is optional but helps thin the dip if you prefer a smoother consistency.

I was having a hankering for my Mom’s creamy avocado dip and found your recipe. I realized it was close to what she made with a few tweaks. Our family loves garlic, etc. so I tasted it as written, then doubled the garlic powder, lemon juice, s&p, and added a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Perfect! I think she would be very proud! Thank you for getting me on the road to recreating those childhood memories!
