Fruity and fun Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies are not only refreshing but wonderfully filling on a hot summer day!

Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies

These Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies were SO good, and were so much fun to make.

It was actually my daughter’s idea when we made our punch the other day.

These were the ones we decided to feature. {you can do them any way you want}.

Why We Love These

  • Obviously the patriotic nature of these makes them so perfect for any red, white and blue holiday.
  • The are much better alternative to a sweet dessert, while still tricking yourself and others into thinking they are getting a dessert.
  • Add whipped cream to make them more dessert like.
  • They aren’t hard to make, just a little time heavy.

Ingredients You’ll Need For These Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies

This is one of those recipes that I definitely feel like you can play around a bit with.

If you want to change up flavors or colors, it can totally be done.

Red Layer:

  • milk, any kind
  • fresh strawberries
  • honey
  • ice cubes

White Layer:

  • milk
  • honey
  • ice cubes

Blue Layer:

  • milk
  • fresh blueberries
  • honey
  • ice cubes
  • a drop of blue food coloring, if needed or desired

Ideas Notes & Suggestions

Changing the fruit – if you want to use cherries, raspberries, strawberries or whatever red fruit you happen to have, go ahead.

Potentially the blue layer would be harder because blueberries are the main fruit that is blue.

You could do a couple of drops of food coloring with blackberries, but they sometimes are still pretty purple.

Sweetener – if you would rather use a different method of sweetener than honey, add what you prefer.

Additions: We will sometimes add chia seeds to the white layer because we like them and they provide a little texture.

You could also use ice cream, plain yogurt or pudding as well.

    1. I’m not sure that would work, first it would freeze too much and be solid. But then when you left it out to thaw a bit, I think the colors might run together. If you don’t mind that, the flavors are still amazing but it wouldn’t have the same layered effect.

  1. Blueberries turned a dark red when blended. I did not have blue food coloring, I used Blue Raspberry jello mix to no avail. 🇺🇸
