Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies

patriotic smoothies 3 Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies

These Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cream Smoothies were SO good, and were so much fun to make. It was actually my daughter’s idea when we made our punch the other day. Be sure to check that out at the end of this post to see her first creation (the original) we call Tie Dye Smoothies. It was a great first attempt, but these were the ones we decided to feature. {you can do them any way you want}.

We had these the other day when it was super hot {108 degrees}, they were perfect – nice and cool and delicious! We are going to make them again tomorrow for the 4th of July and I am sure a few more times this summer and definitely for other holidays, perhaps changing up the fruit to match the season. They are relatively easy to make to be honest, but a little time consuming just because they need to spend some time in the freezer in between layers. No big deal though. Spend your time making other treats and goodies.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful, safe and festive  Fourth of July! Be sure and check out my other fourth of july recipes.

If you stuck around this long, you probably wanted to check out the cute Tie Dye Smoothies my daughter made. She made the recipe just like above but did not put it in the freezer in between and she only used 2-3 ice cubes per layer. The layers are fairly loose. Poured in the red, then slooowly poured in the white and then sloooowly poured in the blue. She then took a chopstick (though a straw would clearly work) and gently stirred and swirled it through the smoothie and the end result was a tie dye effect. The blue was tie dyed as well, but the angle of the photo doesn’t show the small amount she had done at this point. {note to self, talk food styling with the kid and make sure she finishes her project before she photographs it and that she photographs it before she eats it} ha!
