How to Store Leftover Cranberry Chia Smoothies

For the Short Term (1-2 days):

  • Refrigerator: Pour your leftover smoothie into a jar or container with an airtight lid. Give it a good shake before you drink it, as some ingredients might settle.

For the Long Term (up to 3 months):

  • Freezer: Here are a couple of options:
    • Ice Cube Trays: Pour your smoothie into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, pop the cubes into a freezer bag. This is great for single servings!
    • Freezer-Safe Containers: Make sure to leave some space at the top of the container because the smoothie will expand as it freezes.

Important Tips:

  • Always use airtight containers to prevent your smoothie from absorbing other flavors in your fridge or freezer.
  • Don’t forget to label and date your containers so you know how long they’ve been stored.

  1. Looks and sounds delicious, Nicole! My 6 year old is such a huge fan of the Mamma Chia drinks I have purchased but at $2.50 a pop (on sale) a homemade option sounds much better, especially since we have chia on hand already.
