I love to dip. Do you love to dip? These 4 Restaurant-Inspired Asian Style Dipping Sauces make dipping fun and there’s a dipping sauce for every palate. Which one will you choose?

As it typically goes, I enjoy hosting events at my home. From formal gatherings to the casual get-together, spending time with family and friends is a must.

The only down side to doing it more often is the time and expense that can come from the food and entertainment costs.

There is a lot that goes into planning any event, from the decorating, invitations, entertainment and of course, the food.

Recently, I hosted an afternoon gathering, and decided to try something a little different.

For food I decided to do a small bite theme and I turned straight to Restaurant-Inspired  Tai Pei Egg Rolls and Tai Pei Spring Rolls!

It was so simple and fun to throw together an Asian inspired gathering with a few of my friends and family members.

Plus we had a blast whipping up 4 Restaurant-Inspired Asian Style Dipping Sauces to go with them!

I found Tai Pei Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls easily at Walmart in the frozen foods aisle. At my store, they were located next to the frozen potatoes. And there were plenty of options.

We brought home:

  • Tai Pei Mini Chicken Spring Rolls
  • Tai Pei Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls
  • Tai Pei Chicken Egg Rolls
  • Tai Pei Pork Egg Rolls
  • Tai Pei Vegetable Egg Rolls
  • Tai Pei Shrimp Egg Rolls
  • Tai Pei Mini Spicy Chicken Egg Rolls

Each box comes with packets of sweet and sour sauce, and it is delicious. But for fun, and for variety, we whipped up four additional Restaurant-Inspired Asian Dipping Sauces to accompany the Egg Rolls & Spring Rolls.

As inexpensive as these were, they were even more simple to make. Literally just pop them in the preheated 450 degree oven for 15-20 minutes. They are all filled with fresh cut veggies, hearty meat or seafood and have wonderfully delicious crispy wrappers.

My absolute favorite were the Mini Spicy Chicken Egg Rolls with the Mini Chicken Spring Rolls as a close second. However, they are all delicious with an authentic Asian flavor, and ready in just minutes. They truly were the perfect solution for food and nobody left hungry.

I purchased TWO of each type of Egg Roll and Spring Roll to make sure I had plenty, though for 8 people I probably could have just done 1 of each type.

When I was ready to serve them, I took several large trays and placed a white serving platter on each one.

I stacked the egg rolls and spring rolls three types to a plate, then identifying each with a small paper flag.

I did the same thing with the dipping sauces. I printed out little labels and added them to each dipping bowl, for easy identification.

I was surprised by how much everyone loved the small touches I made, and several commented on how cool it was not wondering what the sauce was or which egg roll was hidden beneath which crispy delicious wrapper.

Fun Fact: If you’re wondering about my color scheme, this was for a baby shower.

The couple opted out of finding out the sex of their baby so far, and so we did one table of all blue and yellow and a whole other table of pink and yellow.

For fun, we told people to choose the egg rolls/spring rolls from the table that supported what they thought the couple was having.

By the time the event was over, we were totally out of egg rolls/spring rolls from the boy table and had to take from the girl table. The wonderful couple has since, interestingly enough, been blessed with a baby boy. Looks like my guests were right.
