Ingredients and Substitutions

What you need:

chicken broth, feel free to use lower sodium broth, since the soy sauce adds plenty of salt flavor

soy sauce, a light soy sauce is fine too

minced garlic, you can adjust this to your taste

rice wine vinegar, white wine vinegar can be substituted, but does change the flavor a bit

toasted sesame oil, you can use regular sesame oil, but the toasted sesame oil adds so much to the flavor of this sauce

hot red pepper flakes, use as much or as little as you like for the spice

honey, this can be adjusted for taste

Substitutions:

I listed substitutions above. While I’m sure there are other substitutes for those ingredients listed, any major changes are going to change the original flavor of the sauce.

How to Make Garlic Stir Fry Sauce

There really isn’t any out of the ordinary instructions to make this.

Literally combine all the ingredients and mix well. I suggest using a whisk, but a spoon would work too. Just make sure everything is well blended.

Taste test after combined to see if you want to add any more of the ingredients.

How to Store Garlic Stir Fry Sauce

Make Ahead:

This can definitely be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator before serving. See the refrigeration directions for length of time.

Refrigeration:

This sauce lasts 7 days stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Simply stir the Garlic Stir Fry Sauce again to serve.

Freezing:

We don’t recommend freezing this sauce. It changes the consistency too much.
