This wonderfully beautiful, summery salad is savory, delicious and is traditionally served at a Luau in Hawaii. Lomi Lomi Tropical Salad is filled with delicious salmon, fresh vegetables and spiced just a tad.
I received this recipe from a friend a very very long time ago.
She had served it as a delicious salad with dark leafy greens and we were all sold on it.
Lots of great flavors and the jumping off point for so much more.
What can I add to Lomi Lomi Tropical Salad?
To make it even more tropical, additional add-on’s like fresh pineapple and mango can be added.
For some crunch, add some sunflower seeds or even crushed nuts like macadamia. It’s all what you want to make it.
This is just the basic jumping off point.
What dressing do I use on this Tropical Salad?
When we make this, we prefer not to use dressing. We serve it on lettuce leaves or wrapped in lettuce leaves.
But if you want to use a dressing, I would make up your own. Maybe a Pineapple Vinaigrette or something fresh and creamy.
Remember, this can be eaten any way that you decide you like it. The possibilities are endless.
What can I do with this Lomi Lomi Salad?
There are a lot of fun ways to enjoy this delicious tropical salad.
Include it on a sandwich (makes a great topping), in a dip – just add your favorite savory seafood based dip recipe, or as I mentioned, the jumping off point to a much larger salad.
We’ve wrapped it in lettuce leaves, sandwich wraps or even in Spring Roll Wrappers (rice paper).
Lomi Lomi Tropical Salad is super easy and can be adapted many different ways. A very versatile recipe.
