Easy Homemade Apple Sauce

Easy homemade apple sauce is absolutely delicious and is super simple to whip up and enjoy! Smooth, tart and perfect for Fall!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds apples
  • ¼ cup water
  • cinnamon to taste - or apple pie spice

If you'd like to use the recipe for apple compote:

  • 4 tbsp. honey

Instructions

  • Clean the apples.
  • Remove the core and peel the apples.
  • Cut the apples into large chunks and throw toss them in a pot on the stove.
  • Add the water and bring to a boil over medium-high heart.
  • Add the spice or if making compote, the honey.
  • Cover and cook for about 10-20 minutes stirring frequently.
  • Remove from stove.
  • If making apple sauce allow to cool.
  • When it is cool, blend in a blender until desired constancy.
  • Transfer to mason jars and store in the fridge for up to a week. (ours would not have lasted that long!)
