- 16 oz chicken sausage or turkey Italian sausage, crumbled, browned and drained- you can
- 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
- 1 cups water
- 1 cups dried lentils
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 bulb fennel diced
- 1 onion diced
- 1 red bell pepper diced
- salt and pepper to taste
PLACE water, broth and veggies in a pot and bring to a boil, cooking for about 5-10 minutes
Add lentils, cover and cook for 25-30 minutes, until lentils are tender
Add sausage and heat through, about 10 minutes
Serve and garnish with chopped fennel tops (the feathery portion)
