Today’s post is brought to you from my daughter Brie, from Brie’s Bites. She actually hasn’t blogged in awhile. School has kept her busy, as well as creating an anti-bullying campaign and a few other things. She still helps me in the kitchen but at her age (15) it’s getting harder and harder. So actually my youngest Jessica, might be making more appearances here on the blog. She actually enjoys helping me out in the kitchen still (she’s 13).
Anyway, so for today’s post, Brielle and I did some serious brain storming on what we wanted to make. It’s the Letter V today and well, other than vegetables, veal and venison we were having some issues coming up with anything that we could title with a V. It took us quite sometime AND a shipment in the mail, to finally make a decision.
Thanks towe got a huge shipment of yogurt in a wide variety of flavors and types. Totally awesome. Thank you so much Chobani, our family just loves Chobani and we loved trying out the new Chobani Champions, Flips and of course, the classic chobani yogurt as well.
Brielle was sifting through the yogurt in the fridge one day, when she shouts “Vanilla” from the kitchen. I was confused for a moment and then we both burst out laughing at the same time. Why in the world had we not thought of Vanilla? I think we were thinking FAR too hard. “We can make smoothies!” she was excited. She loves smoothies very much and this idea completely appealed to her.
I looked at her and took a deep breath before I said “Correction. You can make smoothies. I’m working and can’t stop right this moment.” She was fine with that and took on the challenge quite well. She knew she needed to make enough to share with four, because that was how many we had home at the time. I heard her clinking and clanking and then the sound of our rather loud blender/smoothie maker and then…. she came and asked for the camera. She had succeeded in designing her own smoothie with a little of this and that, and was quite proud. (I’m really glad I keep the fridge/freezer/pantry well stocked for times like this.)
And here is Brielle’s Vanilla Mango Cherry Smoothie. Enjoy!
