Can you believe it’s already almost Valentine’s Day? I feel like I just did Christmas last week, but even then I was seeing lots of red and pink and hearts adorning the store shelves. Valentine’s Day usually means class parties, dances and other fun events. Each year, Valentine’s Day exchanges get more and more creative, and here at our house, we found a whole new way to celebrate and exchange Valentine’s Day “cards”.
It started with a trip to Walmart to grab some Chocolate and Vanilla 4 count Pudding Snack Packs. We were pretty excited because we found the new easy open lids! They are so much easier to open, not just for kids for the record, adults will find them easier too! <grin> Plus, I mean what tastes better than Snack Packs pudding as a quick treat? Did you know one snack pack contains the same amount of calcium as an 8 oz glass of milk?
Then we ran around from aisle to aisle and grabbed all kinds of fun mix-ins for the pudding cups. Why? Because seriously… mix-ins make an already amazing product, that much more fun. They are the perfect easy to make desserts!
What we grabbed:
- Peter Pan® Creamy Peanut Butter
- Reddi-wip® Original Dairy Whipped Topping
- Fresh Ripe Bananas
- Fresh Strawberries
- Vanilla wafer cookies
- Graham Crackers
- miniature marshmallows
- milk chocolate morsels
Anything goes here. Create a mix-ins bar and let everyone decide what they want to add on their own. The five teenagers and a toddler found different ways to mix up their pudding. This lasted for days. It was loads of fun and they just kept trying different combinations.
Mom here, is kind of a traditional gal and just wanted to keep her pudding simple but give it a twist. So I invented this delicious combo…. Peanut Butter Swirl Chocolate Pudding. Which is of course, a Chocolate Pudding Snack Pack with Peanut Butter swirled throughout and Reddi Wip on top. I may have added some edible heart glitter. <grin>
The second time I made these, I added chopped pieces of banana to the pudding because seriously chocolate, peanut butter and banana are honestly the PERFECT combination.
After we had fun trying out all the different mix-ins, we decided we wanted to make the presentation cuter and more festive for the Valentine’s Day holiday. We headed over to our local dollar store and picked up some different craft items to make these Snack Packs stand out from the crowd.
Check out our video on how we made these SUPER SIMPLE gifts!
What is your favorite Snack Pack flavor? What mix-ins would you use?
