It’s back to school time and our house is crazy busy all of a sudden. Early morning rushes as we try to cram breakfast, and everyone getting ready for school into a small time frame. Then we have after school time where they all want to come home and relax, have snacks and get ready for homework time. We have loads of activities to shuttle them to, and friends coming over and well, like I said, Back to School is back in full swing, and it’s time to get organized and plan simple meals and snacks. It’s time to make your morning easier!
It all starts at Walmart for us. Walmart is the place for back to school, especially for quick meal solutions. We got started in the frozen breakfast aisle and quickly made our way to the Frozen Snacks and Appetizers aisle. One of the reasons I choose Walmart is because of the great value I get there, and the other is that they have a great selection of products. To make our mornings run just a little smoother, Jimmy Dean has a wide variety of frozen breakfast ideas. I picked up Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage on a stick, because my kids and teens love them, and eating food on a stick makes clean up easy and simple. Something we definitely need on those busy weekday mornings. We also picked up a few different things to dip them in. Besides syrup, my kids enjoy dipping them in vanilla or caramel yogurt, so we always make sure we grab some of that too. I serve them with a bowl of fresh cut fruit with a splash of fresh cream. Everyone loves it and this has made our early morning transition time a total breeze.
Next up is the afternoon snack rush. Between homework, activities and friends, we need to keep our freezer stocked with simple ideas that the kids can grab easily and at times, eat on the run. State Fair Classic Corn Dogs, or State Fair Beef Corn Dogs are definitely the solution. Dipping sauces like mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, Cheese sauce and Ranch dressing, etc. can be offered to change up flavors. Serve with a side of veggie sticks or fresh fruit for a great snack.
I shared our morning and afternoon snack tips, what are some of yours? Please share in the comments below.
