Welcome to Day 7 of the 12 Days of Sweet Eats and Holiday Treats Link Up!
It’s Day 7 and we’re into the second week of 12 Days of Sweet Eats and Holiday Treats. Today I am bringing you a throwback recipe that gets rave reviews. I am loving all of the delicious treats that have been shared, and my co-hosts have been whipping up great recipes and this has been so much fun so far. I do hope you will link up your favorite Holiday Treats, Crafts, Decorations or DIY Holiday projects to the party. There are really no rules, would just be nice if you stopped by and visited the other hosts too.
They have awesome treats in store for you as well!

Yes, I was bad today. Today’s post is another recycled post. From December 20, 2008. Found here. I took the regular copy and made notes in red. Life has apparently not changed that much from back then.
In another life (long before I became a food blogger) I was a preschool teacher. Probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone, especially when people learn I have 5 kids. Yes, I do love kids. I miss teaching so much. I think about it a lot.
My children on the other hand, love to raid my preschool activities stash which I still have plenty of even after all of these years. Which is kinda comical to see really. 5 kids, now age
14, 14, 12, 10 and 9, 19, 19, 17, 15 and 14 sitting at the kitchen table or in the living room on the floor doing crafts that a 3 or 4 year old would find fun. The thing is, they still enjoy them tremendously. Our house is full of crazy stuff like this. And now we have my 2 year old nephew Alex who is having so much fun getting use out of my old preschool stuff. Today Back then, it was just plain cold (though it is today too!), and the kids were just plain bored. So we got out the books and folders I have stuffed with fun activities and we came across this one.
It called for any hard candy, but especially suggested Jolly Ranchers.
Since Christmas is fast approaching, we decided to do some fun Christmas colors and make lollipops to enjoy and to give away to family, friends and neighbors. Is it sad that we are actually considering doing this again this weekend just for fun. Great gift for teenagers and they all have friends they want to make them for.
They really are very fun to make and extremely easy. Obviously a 3-4 year old can line up some candies on a cookie sheet. So can some pre-teens. haha
