Doug and I don’t get to do a date night very often. With a house full, we have to make time for just the two of us. We have been trying to do this at least once every other week lately, so we have time to connect and talk.
We found out Red Lobster’s Endless Shrimp is back and for a limited time, so we took advantage of it. We decided that was where our most recent date night would be and off we went.
I learned that Red Lobster has two new beer cocktails, so we decided to start our meal out with those.
Doug ordered the Seaside Shandy, a crisp and refreshing drink featuring Shock Top Belgian White Ale, Cointreau and fresh citrus juices. He loved it. I loved it. We ordered another after it was gone.
I went with the Angry Lobster which is a bold and spicy blended drink featuring Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider, tropical fruit juices and a kick of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. I loved it. We ordered another one after this one was gone too. I couldn’t help myself.
At Red Lobster, Endless Shrimp is the number one guest requested event. I can’t imagine why! It’s my favorite event too!
When you order the Endless Shrimp, you get to choose two shrimp dishes (out of the five) and two sides to get started.
I chose the Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi. And then for my sides I chose a salad and mashed potatoes, because well… mashed potatoes. Need I really say more?
Doug chose Hand-Breaded Shrimp and the Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp. For his sides, he chose a salad and broccoli (his favorite!) to go with it.
New this year is the Pineapple Coconut Habanero Shrimp, which are coconut shrimp bites tossed in a pineapple habanero sauce and they were awesome! This was my second dish pictured below. Yes, I might have liked them… a lot!
I have a huge love affair with Shrimp Scampi also, so that was another repeat order. Delicious oven broiled shrimp drenched in garlic, white wine and butter! My mouth is still watering.
And then there’s was another plate of Teriyaki Grilled Shrimp brushed in a delectable soy ginger glaze. It was such a wonderful combination of sweet and savory I had to order them again!
Also we tried (but failed to take photos of) the Hand-Breaded Shrimp and the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, tender shrimp in a garlic Parmesan cream sauce served on a bed of linguini.
It was an absolutely wonderful evening. We loved being able to spend time together for a date night. It was a much needed evening out to connect and of course, enjoy fantastic food. We’ve been raving over the Endless Shrimp and will be heading back soon for more.
