It’s been awhile since I posted. Not intentionally, but you know – life gets busy and you don’t realize how much time has passed!
For the past several weeks I have been up to my eyeballs in baby shower planning. The shower was for my beautiful daughter so in my mind it needed to be perfect. Not that all baby showers shouldn’t be perfect. But you understand. This required a lot of planning, a lot of food prep and enlisting several amazing friends and family to help. Loads of help. And, my best friend gave up her house for this event! She’s amazing.
The shower was Sunday, January 24, 2016. It was absolutely perfect, in every way.Took us about two hours to set up and food prep before the baby shower. We saved it all until we arrived “on location” because it was less stressful with all the help.
We had the best help. Angela, Jessie, Jocie, Carley, Cyndi, Ryan. Without these six people, I’m pretty sure I’d have lost my head. Austin and Brielle helped too, but we tried to give them a break since it was their shower.
I gave the decorations to these two sweet girls. Jocie on the left is my besties daughter, and Carly on the right is another dear friends daughter. These two girls decorated with balloons, banners and crepe paper and it looked FANTASTIC!I will tell you, 80% of our decorations and supplies came from dollar stores. And everything turned out so amazing. So exactly like I wanted it. Here’s a few shots of food and drinks – besides the “baby blue” drink we also had water bottles, coffee and tea.
I made up sheets for the games we would play, and made sure that nearly every game we played either was something my daughter would get to keep or that it was a prize in and of itself. (except the baby food game because she was adamant that we play it!)
Brielle and Austin were absolutely showered with gifts for baby Carsyn Oliver. I was very overwhelmed at the generosity from friends and family. There were several times I just took it all in and realized how incredibly blessed we are to have the people in that house, in our lives. To those that came: Angela, Cyndi, Jocie, Nate, Kayla, Christy, Carly, Kendall, Mom, Marlyn, Jolina, Karen, Chrissy, Amber (and two month old Skylar), Alaina (Nikki), Madi & Joey, Mike, Jessie, Ryan, Hillary, Natalie – we love you, and we couldn’t appreciate more what you did for Brielle and how special you made this day. Thank you for blessing us with your friendship.
