“Out There Somewhere”

Not so long ago, but almost too long,
I was given away, by the person who gave me life.
Two loving people wanted me and raised me.
I lived a happy life, but what about that one person?
The one that brought me into this world.
The one that said let me go.
Is she out there somewhere?
Does she still care, or did she never really anyway?
I am told that she did,
for she gave me the best life …
But what about her life?
Did it really make it better?
Or somehow, was a piece of her taken 18 years ago.
