I made it to 1000. Actually, 1115 if you want to get real technical. My goal today is between 2500 and 5000 just to get ahead, but I won’t die if I don’t make it. Already my ridiculous internal editor who doesn’t seem to wish to stay out of NaNo ever, has been making her presence well known. I’m taking a brief break to get some other stuff done and then I’ll be back. I figure if I can do half hour writing storms (approximately 1000 words or so) a few more hours and I’ll be way ahead of my own game. Have you started yet? If so, how many words have you got?
My step daughter is participating in the Young Writer’s Program, her word count goal (she’s 11) is 20000. Last year she just barely made it to her word count goal of 10,000 so we will evaluate her progress around the 15th of the month to see if the 20,000 might be to high for her.
She just went outside to play after writing nearly 500 words this morning. I’m quite proud of her since last night she had absolutely no idea where her story was going, who any of her characters were or even what genre she was writing in. Not a bad start at all. She has more words than some adult NaNo’ers have. LOL
In the meantime – have you seen these NaNo icons? How fun are those? I’ll probably add some to my blog today or tomorrow just for fun.
Do you have a desktop calendar in which you can keep track of your daily word goals? Get one. First, they are inspirational, second they are helpful to remember where your goals are each day and third, they are just plain fun.
See ya in a few hours!
