Guess what my kids are having for snack this afternoon when they get home? I’ll be popping them in the oven in about 15 minutes. Yum!
Spicy Potato Wedges Recipe
1/4 c. canola oil
1 Tbs. chili powder
2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. paprika
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
3-1/2 lbs. large red potatoes, cut into wedges
In a big bowl, combine everything except the potatoes. After you have cut the potatoes into wedges, add them to the bowl and toss to coat entirely. Arrange in a single layer on a greased baking sheet. You might need two. Bake at 400° for 30-35 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden brown, turning once. Delicious!

oh, we love potato wedges. but i dont have an oven. can i still do this if i only have a microwave?
Dinah, I’m not really sure about doing it if you only have a microwave, simply because a microwave tends to soften your food, and you want these to be a bit crispy on the outside. I’m really not convinced they would work with a microwave, but I can’t speak for sure because I have never tried. Sorry.
When I was a kid my mother made sweet potato fries. She sliced them, fried them in butter and sprinkled with sugar. They are great!
