One thing I do is put together things that don't require cooking ahead. Lasagne made with no-boil noodles can be assembled and frozen, to heat up later. Same with lumpia (fill wrappers with raw pork and veggies, freeze, cook later). I also like to make filled buns from the King Arthur beautiful buns recipe (fill them with leftover barbecued beef, or with ground beef and cheese, or whatever, and freeze them unbaked to bake later).
