Blogging A to Z Challenge: What’s Your Theme? #atozchallenge

Blogging A to ZIt’s time once again (April) for the Blogging A to Z challenge and once again I plan to participate. I think this is my third year on this blog.

What is the Blogging A to Z Challenge?

It all began with a post from Arlee Bird (the brain child) when he set forth a challenge to all bloggers (mostly writers) for the month of April.   He wondered could bloggers post every day except Sundays during the month of April.  And to up the bar, could we blog thematically from A to Z? It has grown by leaps and bounds ever since with over 2K blogs participating this year with tons of categories and blog niches represented.

I discovered the Blogging A to Z challenge in 2010 when I still maintained a writing blog. That Writing blog (along with another one) has since merged into Crazed Mom and become an everyday, no topics off limit blog. I considered doing the challenge on that blog again this year, but would rather focus over here on what I’m good at – food. It’s not too late though, so maybe I will jump on board over there too. Who knows, I tend to be a glutton for punishment. (or high levels of stress haha)

I began doing the Blogging A to Z Challenge here on Daily Dish Recipes, in 2011. I didn’t do too well, but in 2012 and 2013 I did MUCH better and stuck to my recipe theme. Lots of great recipes and food were shared.

This year I plan to go at it again, and I’m sticking to a super easy recipe theme. Stuff that anyone can make no matter their level of cooking, etc. Easy recipes with less than 5 ingredients (plenty with only two or three!).

Are you participating in the Blogging A to Z Challenge? If you are, what theme are you doing?

Sticking to the theme is important, but also have a theme which provides enough material for the month is even more important. Last two years, I did writing, and it was a slog after a while because writing just isn’t that interesting to talk about and after a while, I ran out of things to say that fit within the alphabet. This year, I changed to life in the military stories and have easily filled up most of the slots with subjects — and ended up with suggestions from people already.

Oh I cannot wait to read your posts this month. We are a military family, so posts on life in the military is extremely interesting to me. I totally agree, limiting your theme a little can make writing a post extremely difficult. I have taken the easy road twice now with just general recipes. This year I am trying to focus on 2-3 ingredient recipes, which just might make it a little more challenging, but I know I can do it.
I can’t think of a topic for my other blog, so I haven’t signed up with that one yet. One more day to decide! Hahah
I will be following along with you!

This is my first year to do the A to Z challenge. It’s been much funner than I expected. I have a writing blog, and my theme is, “The Lesser Known Greek Myths.” Yes, I am a glutton for punishment too. But I’ve really had fun researching for it, and I hope everyone else has fun reading what I’ve found out!
