Menu Planning for the Weekday #yahoofood

Menu planning is a great time saver each week, and here at the Daily Dish, we often provide Menu Plans for our readers, to make meal planning just a bit easier. I also love finding new places for great recipes, so I can add to our menu each week. This is why I love websites like Yahoo! Food. With Yahoo! Food, find delicious recipes to make tonight and check out the best cooking and kitchen hacks. Pretty much everything I need to plan a weeks worth of meals that my family will love.

What makes Yahoo! Food even better, is that they have a fabulous team of editors, writing the best recipes and food articles, which includes a former Bon Appetit senior web editor, Julia Bainbridge; Huffington Post Food Writer, Rachel Tepper and Alex Van Buren, who has written for slew of popular websites and publications like Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and Martha Stewart Living. In addition to having a fantastic team, they also partner with some of the best food sites in the world, including Food52, Martha Stewart, Bon Appetit and Epicurious, to name a few.  I promise, there is no shortage of fabulous recipe ideas, tips and tricks and just great food inspiration all located in one easy to navigate place.

I also love that a large majority of the recipes found on the site, have accompanying step by step videos, which is always great to see how something should look along the way.

Meal Planning 101

On that note, let’s take a look at what’s for dinner this week and see what’s on the menu!

Monday

Sauteed Pork Chop with Sage-Cider Cream Sauce (that Sage-Cider Cream Sauce sounds amazing! And we LOVE pork chops!)

Tuesday

Spicy Slow Cooker Chicken Taco’s (we love taco’s at our house and when they get changed up a bit with scrumptious spicy chicken, I know they’ll be good!)

Wednesday

Asian Summer Rolls with Leftover Fish and Market Greens  (I never know what to do with leftover fish and this might just be the ticket!)

Thursday

Lettuce and Pea Soup (because my daughter and I are genuinely curious… it sounds flavorful and delicious!)

Friday

Rigatoni with Sausage, Peas and Fresh Ricotta (because by Friday, I’m looking for simple and not only is this simple, it looks SCRUMPTIOUS!)

And beyond our dinner menu, there are two FABULOUS dessert options I  plan to try out this week, Chocolate Stout Cake (because it’s CHOCOLATE!) and this super simple Banana Pudding!

Have you ever used Yahoo! Food for meal planning or recipes? You should!

Easy Canning Recipe: Corn Cob Jelly #SundaySupper

Saving Summer is the theme of our #SundaySupper today and it’s something that’s pretty near and dear to my heart. My garden is constantly over flowing with fruits and veggies that I can’t use up fast enough. Last year we had an over abundance of banana peppers and blueberries. This year it has been strawberries, blueberries and corn. Yes, corn. Welcome to my world. I live in Missouri and it’s pretty abundant here.

Kelloggs Cereal Collage

We eat dinner fairly early. 5:30 most nights. What happens when you eat dinner that early? By the time the night wears on, you get hungry for a snack again. Obviously I’m not going to eat a big meal or a large snack before I go to sleep. But I’m also not going to go to sleep hungry, because first of all, then I can’t fall asleep OR I wake up hungry at 2 in the morning.

Kellogg’s has so many different varieties of cereal, that are perfect for my nighttime snacking needs and won’t make it impossible for me to fall asleep. They really are the perfect good night snack.

Saving Just Got Easier! Summer fun with Paperless Coupons #WalgreensPaperless #shop

It’s summertime and that means lots of pool parties, BBQ’s and fun events.

It means we have a constant and steady flow of friends and family that visit frequently. This means we have to make sure we always have drinks and snacks on hand. We don’t want anyone going home hungry and I already have enough kids to eat me out of house and home, so I need a little extra help when it comes to keeping things stocked up.

Retro Cold Pasta Salad with Ranch, Bacon and More!

Copycat Suddenly Salad

It’s time once again for Secret Recipe Club and I cannot believe a whole month has already flown by. How in the world did we get to August already? I feel like the summer has simply flown by.

Secret Recipe Club

This year we are homeschooling, so the “back to school” date doesn’t affect us, but I was surprised to learn our district goes back WEDNESDAY. Yes, August 6. I mean what? Geez. They just got out.

Summer Fun with New Juicy Fruit Bubble Gum #JuicyFruitFunSide #shop @Walmart

It’s summer time and that means loads of fun, at least until school starts again.  That means trips to the pool, the park, vacations and more. All of which we have done and still have plans to do. School may be close, but there is still lots of summer left….

5 Summer Ice Cream Recipes to Beat the Heat!

5 Summer Ice Cream Recipes

I don’t know where you are, but where I am (St. Louis) we’ve had some weird weather the past month. One week it’s so hot and humid you can barely breathe and the next week you start wondering if Fall is around the corner.  It’s definitely been a strange summer, but I am not complaining because I enjoy the fact that we haven’t hit temps like we did last year. But even with the “cooler than usual” temps, it’s still hot and we are still finding ways to beat the heat.
